Honorable Mention: "Water for Drinking, Preparing Food, and Bathing" by Sara Holtz. “I took the photo in Togo while working as a Peace Corps Volunteer (1995-1998) in a project called ‘Safe Motherhood and Child Survival.’ This woman lives in a really rural area (not even considered a village) in the central region of Togo, not far from the border with Benin. The farm community did not have any wells, so during the dry season people are forced to dig a hole to fulfill all their household needs: cooking, drinking, bathing, washing clothes, doing dishes. We wrote a grant to dig and construct a well for this farm community.”
